SŌL SAMADHI

Yoga Practice & Studio Conduct

At Sōl Samadhi, yoga is more than the physical practice of asana. Our classes are grounded in the traditional Eight Limbs of Yoga and the principles of respect, awareness, discipline and care for ourselves, one another and the space we share.

By attending a class at Sōl Samadhi, you agree to uphold the following principles:

1. Yamas — How We Relate to Others

We ask students to practise respect, kindness, honesty and consideration towards teachers, fellow students and the studio environment.

2. Niyamas — How We Care for Ourselves

Students are encouraged to arrive prepared for practice, with appropriate personal hygiene and clean clothing. This includes being mindful of body odour, perspiration and personal cleanliness, particularly in close or heated classes.

3. Saucha — Cleanliness

Saucha, or cleanliness, is one of the Niyamas and is an important part of yogic practice.

At Sōl Samadhi, this means maintaining personal hygiene and helping to keep our shared practice space clean and pleasant for everyone. Students may be asked to address personal hygiene concerns where they are affecting the experience or comfort of others.

Please bring a clean towel to heated classes and use the studio's mats and props respectfully. Any equipment used during practice should be cleaned and returned appropriately.

4. Ahimsa — Non-Harming

Our practice should create a safe and welcoming environment. This includes being mindful that our choices, behaviour and personal hygiene do not negatively affect another person's ability to practise comfortably.

5. Santosha — Contentment

We encourage students to practise without judgement of themselves or others. Everyone arrives with a different body, experience and capacity.

6. Tapas — Discipline

Yoga asks us to take responsibility for our own practice. This includes arriving prepared, respecting studio guidelines and maintaining the standards that allow the whole community to practise safely and comfortably.

7. Svadhyaya — Self-Study

Yoga invites us to observe ourselves honestly. Students are encouraged to notice how their behaviour, habits and choices affect themselves and those around them.

8. Ishvara Pranidhana — Surrender

We practise with humility, recognising that yoga is a shared experience. We leave our ego at the door and contribute to an environment where everyone can practise with dignity and respect.

Studio Right to Refuse Participation

Sōl Samadhi reserves the right to respectfully ask a student to leave a class or refrain from participating where their conduct, personal hygiene or treatment of the studio environment is significantly affecting the comfort, safety or experience of other students.

Where appropriate, the teacher or studio owner may speak privately with the student to discuss the concern.

Our intention is not to shame or embarrass anyone. These guidelines exist to protect the shared experience of our community and to honour the yogic principle of Saucha — creating cleanliness and clarity in both our individual practice and our collective space.

By booking or attending a class at Sōl Samadhi, you acknowledge and agree to these studio standards.
